Niagara Ring

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

During winter, moisture from this magnificent waterfall freezes, carried by gusts of wind, covering the trees and plants along the river's edge with a thin layer of ice. In their translucent, frost-covered cloaks, they shimmer and glisten. On a clear day, they reflect dazzling, flickering sunbeams, enhancing Niagara Falls with an unforgettable fairytale-like beauty.

In winter, massive ice floes flow into the narrow channel of the Niagara River. In the past, ice from Lake Erie would often block the river's course. The ice on the lake would break and then flow down the river and over the falls in a spectacular manner, creating piles of ice and snow which enabled the connection of the two shores with icy bridges. To prevent ice jams, a barrier of logs and steel cables was recently built at the point where the Niagara flows out of Lake Erie.

This incredible icy spectacle surrounding the waterfall served as the inspiration for crafting a unique ring. At its center rests a perfectly flawless black diamond, symbolizing the rocky ledge from which the water emerges. The stream encircles the main setting, then flows down both sides of the band, forming icy garlands of brilliantly sparkling diamonds. The entire piece is crafted in yellow gold, reminiscent of the sun's glow shimmering on the intricately sculpted frost.
