The sun rises over the town of Goma, painting the sky red and orange. The city is located on Lake Kivu, adjacent to Virunga National Park and the Nyiragongo volcano, one of the most active in the world. What an incredible view! A plume of smoke is constantly coming out of the crater, which takes on a red hue at night in the glow of the lava.
In Swahili, the volcano is called Mulima ya Moto, or Mountain of Fire. Overgrown with lush vegetation, the peak is a specific play of contrasts. Green is the colour of life, flourishing and relaxation. The red colour of the lava represents power and irrepressible energy.
This mountain of fire became the inspiration for a unique engagement ring.
