Nature provides an outstanding source of inspiration. The world of plants and animals offers unlimited creative possibilities. The shapes, patterns, and textures found in nature can serve as an object of study in the search for the perfect line. Nature also provides inspiring unique colour combinations. The insight to perceive principles in divine design is vital to creating uncompromising forms that imitate the Greatest Artist.
Cultural heritage and history is an integral part of the design that influences the world’s perception. An opportunity to explore different traditions, ethnic patterns, and symbolism opens up new creative horizons. The artist can explore different cultures' handicrafts and jewellery techniques, from ancient civilisations to contemporary communities.
Artistic creation is also a way to express emotions and personal experiences. A jeweller can use their feelings, stories, and life inspirations as a starting point to create unique works of art.
I came up with the project below before the pandemic, but it has only recently been completed. A stunning 3-carat cushion cut, royal blue Ceylon sapphire is framed by a ribbon that emerges on both sides of the ring. Its outline is not regular, as in the case of a simple halo. It resembles the contour of a mouth holding a jewel. It is decorated with 38 diamonds. Each is perfectly matched in diameter to the width of the band. The ring's design is concealed so as not to disturb the harmony of the form. The entire piece has been crafted in white gold.
