Tesseract necklace

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

Our mind is trapped in a three-dimensional world. Consequently, many people limit themselves to empirical cognition only. Beyond this, however, there is a reality that exceeds the limits of our understanding.

In the face of an immeasurable vastness that we cannot touch or feel, the arrogance of a man who thinks he has already found the answers regarding the origin of life, or its meaning, seems amusing.

A substitute for this reality is mathematics, in which many concepts exceed the limits of our minds. One of these is the tesseract - the four-dimensional equivalent of the cube. It relates to the cube as the cube relates to the square. In other words, just as the surface of a cube consists of six square faces, the hypersurface of a tesseract consists of eight cubic cells.

The concept of the hypercube can be used to construct the architecture of supercomputers or other applications that are yet to be discovered. The following object is an example. This artefact of unknown origin refers to a hypercube that continually changes its shape under the influence of light and the passage of time. At its heart is a mysterious crystal that looks identical from all sides. It might be a drive or gateway to the next dimension.
