On 16 January, 1966, a basketball team was formed that went on to have the best record of games among NBA rookie teams and qualify for the playoffs in its very first year of existence. It featured players such as Artis Gilmore, Chet Walker, Bob Love, Norm Van Lier, Jerry Sloan, Reggie Theus, and Tom Boerwinkle. The team was called the Chicago Bulls.
The team's breakthrough came with the selection of Michael Jordan in 1984 and then Scottie Pippen 3 years later. These two players, as well as the coach Phil Jackson, who was hired in 1989, made the team go down in NBA history as the best team of the 1990s, winning the league championship six times between 1991-1993 and 1996-98.
This incredible story became the inspiration to design a necklace for a client who was a professional basketball player and Bulls fan. It takes the form of this player's number "11", created according to the proportions of the numbers on the Bulls’ jerseys, including the legendary "23" belonging to "His Airness.”
The convex interior of the number is studded with black diamonds. The outline of the numerals is slightly lower and decorated with white diamonds. A total of 350 stones are set in the necklace. A solid chain with an armoured weave completes the composition. The whole piece is made in yellow gold.
