Fractals is a mathematical term for forms where each part has the same statistical character as the whole.
Fractals are clearly visible in snowflakes. No two are alike, yet each is a fractal. Individual arms branch off, becomimg smaller and smaller branches. For me, self-similarity in nature has always been a sign of a conscious, higher design. In response to this phenomenon, a snowflake necklace was born.
It would seem that the obvious colour for the snowflake would be white. However, I watched a video showing ice crushing, and noticed that the ancient permafrost in the fractal is blue! Fascinated by this, I opted for blue topaz. The stones were cut to order, specially for this project.
When designing this piece, I made sure that the necklace had a captivating appearance, studded with stones, and had an intricate fractal composition. The whole necklace was handcrafted in white gold 750.
