Eclectic ring with sapphire

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

Eclecticism has its roots in ancient Greece and Rome, where architects and artists drew inspiration from different styles and eras. However, the idea of eclecticism has also found its way into other artistic fields, such as music, fashion, literature, and film. In each of these fields, eclecticism offers the possibility of a creative combination of various elements, which leads to something new and unique.

One of the main advantages of eclecticism is that it allows people to experiment with different styles and techniques. It allows them to explore new perspectives and create something that was not there before. For example, in music, an eclectic artist can combine jazz, hip-hop, and classical music to create original and innovative compositions.

The same is true in the jewellery world. Combining immortal, classic concepts with modern techniques enables us to rediscover what is already known. The ring below is an example of such thinking. In the centre is set a sapphire in the colour of cornflower blue. It is set in a crown, but unlike classic designs, it has four shoulders. In addition, they are rotated 45 degrees, unlike the classic baskets so popular in store-bought rings. You can see in the reflection that small diamonds have also been embedded into the sides of the setting. The seemingly classic, tapering ring has been decorated with diamonds set in an unconventional, uniquely smooth way. The whole piece was made in yellow gold.
