Baltic amber with pearls

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

Chocolate pearls are extremely rare. They can only be obtained from Indian pearl, commonly known as ‘black- lipped oyster’.

This species is found in tropical Indo-Pacific coral reefs. Therefore, finding a set for this project required a lot of commitment. Ultimately, I was able to purchase a set from a supplier in Jaipur, India.

Concept sketch of a necklace with baroque amber and chocolate pearls.

The necklace that I designed for Mr. Michael contains Baltic amber with a fanciful shape and a buttery colour in the central part. It is completed with six chocolate pearls. All the stones are set beneath stylized foaming waves, reminiscent of two contrasting seas that unite their priceless goods into one composition.
