A locket is a fascinating type of jewellery that, apart from the very idea of a container, hides a secret. Why is it shaped like this? Is there something inside? But how do you open it?
Some lockets have a shape that does not indicate the contents at all. Others encourage you to search for answers as to what might be inside.
The locket below is shaped like a vial, hinting that this design is no accident. But what is inside? A photo? A leaf? Or perhaps perfume? You don't know! This information belongs exclusively to the owner.
The locket is made of four solid pieces of gold. The two tubes have been hand-rolled from 0.8 mm sheet metal. The thread at the end has a latch so that you can tell when the vial is properly closed. A gasket further enhances the insulation of the container protecting it from external factors. The main piece is decorated with a deep engraving of vines set with natural rubies. The vial is complemented by a forged anchor chain. The whole piece has been handcrafted in 585 yellow gold.
