Flower ring with ruby

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

Red is the colour of strong emotions: love, anger, passion and fury. It is associated with objects of strength and desire- just like fast cars or roses. Ancient cultures valued ruby for its hue, as it is similar to the colour of blood flowing through veins. Based on this, it was believed that ruby had a life force in it.

Ruby additionally grew in popularity with the birth of the Western world and became one of the most desirable stones to the European aristocracy. Many medieval, wealthy Europeans wore rubies as a guarantee of health, wealth, wisdom and success in love. No wonder the ruby, a symbol of passion, is the perfect romantic gift today.

The stone for this design comes from Mozambique. Its deep colour is brought to the fore due to the excellent proportions of the cut. The composition is completed with a decorative rosette, with diamonds embedded in its individual petals. This seemingly classic solution has been enhanced by a decorative halo edge. In addition, the way the diamonds are set gives the rosette a modern look. The ring was handcrafted in rose 14k gold.
